Xergi has invested in a pre-treatment system NiX® (Nitrogen Extraction). This patented technology has several advantages:

• Energy production increased by 25 %
• Nitrogen is isolated as ammonium sulphate which is a commercial fertilizer
• Nitrogen which inhibits the proces is removed
• The amount of fibre after the biogasification is reduced by 20 %
• Sterilization of biomasses makes it possible to add animal byproducts (cat. II and III)
• Homogenization of the biomass makes it pumpable

NiX® is the pre-treatment system in a ManuPower biogas plant. This kind of plant is 100 % based on manure.
