Grøngas A/S has had a new engine

The biogas plant Grøngas A/S, which is situated in the northern part of Denmark, has been upgraded with a new engine and separation plant for the digestate. The engine output is thus now 1400kW which means that Grøngas is capable generating twice as much as earlier. The old engine of 625kW will still be used occationally.

The Danish Minister for the Environment, Troels Lund Poulsen, had the honour to start the engine.

 The plant

The plant produces electricity and district heat for about 1000 consumers in a small city in the northern part of Denmark and improved manure for the farming.

Xergi signs contract with a United States municipal corporation

Xergi has signed a contract with the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) for the establishment of a new biogas plant in the United States. The biogas plant, Hometown BioEnergy, will be built with gas fired CHP engines with a total output of 8 MW electrical power.
