New Xergi partnership in Turkey PDF Print E-mail

Xergi enters partnership with Turkish firm GEO on Turkish market for biogas plant.

Xergi has entered into a partnership agreement with consultant engineers and contractors GEO, whose head office is in Izmir, Turkey.

The agreement fits perfectly into the Xergi strategy to expand the international biogas market by entering into agreements with local partners.

The aim of the partnership is for GEO to develop and set up biogas projects in the Turkish market which will be based on Xergi's advanced technology and know-how in the biogas area.

"Turkey is Europe's biggest growth market. The standard of living is rising, which means that agricultural production is growing fast and the demand for more processed food products increases. This means that there is easy access to the biomass needed to run a biogas plant. At the same time, there is focus in Turkey on reducing CO2 emissions and improving environmental conditions - and these are areas in which biogas can play an important role," explains Jørgen Ballermann, CEO of Xergi.

GEO and Xergi are already in full swing, marketing Xergi's advanced biogas technology on the Turkish market.

More focus on sustainable energy

Like Xergi, GEO has many years of experience in supplying turnkey energy systems and the company is renowned for its innovative and creative approach to engineering and contracting. The GEO strategy in recent years has been to increase focus on sustainable energy.

"We are very excited about this new business area. We believe that our timing is perfect and several projects have already reached the planning phase. By entering into partnership with Xergi, we now have the opportunity to offer the Turkish market world-class technology. Using the Danish technology in tandem with GEO's many years of experience of supplying energy systems in Turkey, we feel that we are in a very good position to offer our biogas customers value for money," says Mr. Fatih Ertekin, managing director of GEO.
